This season of Supergirl introduced viewers to Lena Luthor, played by Katie McGrath, the younger half-sister of Lex Luthor. Having taking control of her incarcerated brothers company, Lena attempted to reform her family’s image and escape the shadow of the Luthor name. Unfortunately, the sinister exploits of her adopted mother Lillian Luthor have damaged Lena’s efforts to reshape her family’s reputation, with Kara Danvers being the only person willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. Though it appears Kara has an ally in Lena Luthor, series star Melissa Benoist recently told TVLine that the CEO of L-Corp may be hiding a secret from our heroine.
When asked if Lena might possibly be aware of Supergirl‘s identity, Benoist did not refute the idea.
“I don’t know — but you can never trust a Luthor. So, maybe?”
Personally, I never had the impression that Lena secretly knew Supergirl’s true identity, though Lena certainly proved herself capable of deception when she manipulated her mother into believing she had aligned with Cadmus. Do you think Lena is on the secret? Share your thoughts below!
Supergirl is currently on hiatus and will return with new episodes on April 24, 2017 with the episode titled “Ace Reporter”
Now, in Season Two, Kara has left the safety of being Cat Grant’s assistant in order to figure out what she really wants to do, while as Supergirl she continues to work at the DEO., protecting the citizens of National City and searching for Jeremiah and Cadmus. Along the way, she will team up with Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) to battle new villains, as she strives to balance her personal life with her life as a superhero.
Supergirl airs on Monday at 8:00 pm ET on The CW. Be sure to check back with Heroic Hollywood after each episode for weekly reviews!
