Dylan Walsh has joined the cast of The CW’s Superman & Lois as General Sam Lane.

The CW’s Arrowverse is set to expand with a new series centered on Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman and Elizabeth Tulloch’s Lois Lane. The upcoming series, titled Superman & Lois, was given a straight-to-series order back in January and is now scheduled to go straight into series production after the coronavirus pandemic forced all pilot filming to be suspended.

Now, Deadline reports actor Dylan Wash has joined the cast of Superman & Lois in the series regular role of General Sam Lane, the father of the titular heroine and her sister Lucy. As the outlet describes, Dylan Walsh’s Sam Lane is a “no-nonsense” Army general who is determined to keep America and the rest world safe from any threats, from this world of beyond. Furthermore, Dylan Walsh’s Sam Lane is said to be a workaholic who demands nothing but excellence from all those in his life.

Dylan Walsh’s role in Superman & Lois marks his return to The CW after previously starring in the series Life Sentence. Additional credits under Dylan Walsh’s belt include roles in Nip/Tuck, Unforgettable, and Blue Bloods.

Full details on Superman & Lois are under wraps for the time being, but the series is described as revolving “around the world’s most famous superhero and comics’ most famous journalist [as they] deal with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society.” In addition to Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent and Elizabeth Tulloch as Lane, the series stars Jordan Elsass and Alexander Garfin as their sons. Written by The Flash showrunner Todd Helbing, Superman & Lois will be executive produced by Helbing, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Geoff Johns.
