First Official Look At ‘Superman: Red Son’ Animated Movie Revealed

The first official look at the Superman: Red Son animated movie has been revealed.

Superman: Red Son is a wild reimagining of the DC Universe where instead of landing on a farm in Kansas, Superman lands in the Soviet Union. The book written by Mark Millar addresses how the Man of Steel’s attitude would change if he was raised in a different country. An animated adaptation of Superman: Red Son was announced at San Diego Comic-Con earlier this year, and now we’ve finally got our first look at the film.

The first look at Superman: Red Son was revealed by TV Insider. The site also announced the impressive voice cast that will help bring the story to life. Star Trek: Discovery actor Jason Isaacs is voicing Superman, The Gifted star Amy Acker is playing Lois Lane and Vanessa Marshall (Star Wars Rebels) is Wonder Woman. Sasha Roiz and Phil LaMarr are also joining the Red Son cast as Hal Jordan and John Stewart. Take a look at the Superman: Red Son animated movie below.

Mark Millar’s Superman: Red Son is a three-issue comic book mini-series published under DC’s Elseworlds imprint. The acclaimed story earned an Eisner Award award nomination in 2004 and elements of the comic has been seen in various DC projects such as the Arrowvese crossover event “Crisis on Earth-X.”

Red Son is going to be one of two animated movies focused on the Man of Steel that’s currently slated for next year, along with an original film titled Superman: Man of Tomorrow. The third and final animated movie slated for 2020 is Justice League Dark: Apokolips War. This is the direct sequel to Justice League Dark, which was released in 2017.
