Marvel Studios has just released a new promotional video for James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The clip provides an exciting first look at some returning characters, including Sylvester Stallone’s Stakar Ogord AKA Starhawk, a Ravager captain who was last seen in the post-credits scenes of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
Fans have been eagerly anticipating the return of the Guardians of the Galaxy and the promotional video offers a glimpse of what’s in store for them. In video, titled “Greatest Hits,” Sylvester Stallone’s Stakar Ogord is seen in space wearing his helmet, teasing that the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of Starhawk is involved in an action scene in Vol. 3. Check out the promo below.
Sylvester Stallone confirmed his return as Starhawk for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 back in November 2021. The Hollywood icon previously played the character in a small cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, where he was shown reuniting with his team of Ravagers.
One confirmed aspect of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is the return of James Gunn as writer and director. Gunn was originally set to direct the film after the success of the first two Guardians flicks, but was temporarily removed from the project due to controversial tweets that resurfaced from his past. However, after a public outcry from the Guardians cast and fans, Gunn was reinstated on the film. Vol. 3 is his last Marvel movie due to his commitments to DC Studios.
What to expect from the third Guadians movie
The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 synopsis reads as follows: “Our beloved band of misfits are settling into life on Knowhere, but it isn’t long before their lives are upended by the echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him on a dangerous mission to save Rocket’s life – a mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.”
Written and directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Sean Gunn, Sylvester Stallone, Will Poulter, Chukwudi Iwuji and Maria Bakalova.
