Tenet star Kenneth Branagh thinks that Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film can get Hollywood back on track.
Since the coronavirus hit the United States many businesses had to change their practices with the movie industry virtually shutting down altogether. Many films pushed back their release dates with only Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film, Tenet maintaining its release date. Now star Kenneth Branagh seems to think that the film could potentially put Hollywood back on a normal track.
While speaking to Collider, Kenneth Branagh talked about the effects of the coronavirus on the film industry and how a lot seemed to be riding on Tenet and the film’s potential to get the movie industry back into a state of normalcy:
โThe pandemic and our movement toward this latest developmentโฆis symbolized by the return of large numbers of people to all be at a distance but still [take part in a] group communal experience of a piece of entertainment. Thatโs a big deal right now in our world, itโs important. It would seem to go with what I can tell you is a movie that is worth the publicโs attention, that can be a great thing. All other movie companies are looking at it with real interest, to say the least, because it also uniquely combines with [Nolanโs] unusual brand. An auteur filmmaker who knows how to make a blockbuster. So if heโs on form, then the movie business gets a lovely kick back into the direction of somewhere near normal.โ
