A new LEGO set for Thor: Love and Thunder has revealed the new name for Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie.
Thor: Love and Thunder is set to reinvent the God of Thunder and his kingdom in drastic ways. For starters, Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster will take on the mantle of Mighty Thor. And after the events of Avengers: Endgame, Valkyrie will be the ruler of Asgard at the behest of Chris Hemsworth’s hero. Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie is certainly up to the task, as she tended to the kingdom during Thor’s five-year drunken stupor.
As the new, formal ruler of Asgard, one can imagine significant changes are in tow for Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie. With new duties and expectations comes a new name, as a recent LEGO set has revealed that the character will now be called King Valkyrie in Thor: Love and Thunder. It’s a title that would certainly make Odin, the former King of Asgard proud. The title also makes sense considering Tessa Thompson previously expressed the sentiment that Valkyrie was in search of a Queen.
The LEGO set also features Mighty Thor, Korg, Thor, and Gorr the God Butcher.
Directed by Taika Waititi from a script he co-wrote with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, Christian Bale, Jaimie Alexander, Chris Pratt, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, and Jeff Goldblum. Matt Damon, Sam Neill, Luke Hemsworth, Melissa McCarthy, Ben Falcone, and Russell Crowe are also on board.
Thor: Love and Thunder is set to be released on July 8, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on Tessa Thompson’s role as Valkyrie in the upcoming Marvel film and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
