Monica Rambeau Actor Teyonah Parris Calls ‘Captain Marvel’ Sequel ‘Epic’

Just how epic?

Monica Rambeau actor Teyonah Parris hyped up the upcoming Captain Marvel sequel.

After making a big splash as an adult Monica Rambeau in WandaVision, Teyonah Parris is set to return as the character in The Marvels, a sequel to the 2019 smash hit Captain Marvel. Parris will be joined by Brie Larson, Iman Vellani, and Samuel L. Jackson for the film directed by Nia DaCosta, whose film Candyman is opening this weekend. In a funny coincidence, DaCosta tapped Parris to star in Candyman as well – a casting decision completely unrelated to the Captain Marvel sequel.

Seeing as Candyman is set to make its debut this weekend, Teyonah Parris virtually visited Late Night With Seth Meyers, where she hyped up the Captain Marvel sequel, which is set to hit cinemas later next year.

“I will tell you that I am in London, I am having an amazing time filming The Marvels, and it’s gonna be pretty epic. It’s really exciting, and I can’t wait.”

Monica Rambeau was first introduced to Captain Marvel as a child in the film of the same name. A while back, Teyonah Parris discussed how the sequel will deal with Monica’s relationship with Carl Danvers, and how it has changed since Rambeau matured. Now that Rambeau possesses powers herself, maybe the duo can see eye to eye despite their clear differences?

Teyonah Parris was last seen in WandaVision:

Marvel Studios’ “WandaVision” blends the style of classic sitcoms with the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany)—two super-powered beings living their ideal suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.

Matt Shakman directed the series with Jac Schaeffer as the lead scribe with Kevin Feige producing; WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as The Vision, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Evan Peters as Ralph Bohner, and Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness.

WandaVision is available to stream on Disney Plus. Keep following along to stay up to date on all of the latest surrounding The Marvels and other upcoming MCU projects and subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
