Thanos creator Jim Starlin has clarified earlier comments he made that had fans believing a new cosmic character would be introduced in Avengers 4.

In May, Super Bro Movies reported that Jim Starlin told a crowd at Puerto Rico Comic Con that he would receive more credits for the fourth Avengers film than he did for Infinity War, leading many to believe that a character created by Starlin would be featured in the untitled film. Now, the Thanos creator has taken to his official Facebook page to clarify his comments, which appear to have been taken out of context:

“Okay, this has gone on long enough. Last month at a con in Puerto Rico it came up in the Q&A that I received two credits in the Avengers The Infinity War. I then kidded that I was going to shoot for three in the next movie. I never said another of my characters is going to be appearing in it as has been widely reported since then. That was a mistake on the original reporters part.”

“A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.”
