A working title for the upcoming Star Wars Disney Plus series The Acolyte has been revealed.

One of Lucasfilm’s more intriguing original series for Disney Plus is The Acolyte, which is being developed by Netflix’s Russian Doll creator Leslye Headland. The series will be set within the time period of the High Republic, roughly 200 years before the events of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.

Production Weekly released a new listing of new projects in the works, including The Acolyte. This listing revealed a working title for the new Star Wars series: “Paradox”. It will be interesting if this working title plays any significance to the story that Leslye Headland and Lucasfilm are putting together for this new series, especially since it looks like the series will be the deepest dive into the culture of the Sith we have gotten yet in official canon material.

Along with The Acolyte, there are several other Star Wars series headed to Disney Plus. Next month, The Book of Boba Fett will premiere, followed by the highly-anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi event series and Andor in 2022. The Mandalorian Season 3 is also expected to premiere next year, while Ahsoka is set to begin production in March. Another series, Rangers of the New Republic was also announced, but was reportedly shelved.

The Acolyte remains in the development stages at this time. Meanwhile, the Star Wars universe continues to expand on Disney Plus with The Book of Boba Fett. Here is the synopsis:

The Book of Boba Fett, a thrilling Star Wars adventure, finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the Galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.

Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Robert Rodriguez, and Kathleen Kennedy are all executive producers on The Mandalorian spin-off with episodes directed by Rodriguez, Favreau, Filoni, and Bryce Dallas Howard. The series stars Temuera Morrison, Ming-Na Wen, and Jennifer Beals.

The Book of Boba Fett will arrive on December 29 on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for all the latest news on The Acolyte and the future of the Star Wars franchise on Disney Plus and the big screen. You can also subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content!
