Matt Reeves Shares First Set Photo From Robert Pattinson’s ‘The Batman’ As Filming Begins

The Batman director Matt Reeves has revealed the first photo from the set of the Robert Pattinson movie, which is now filming.

Warner Bros. and DC’s The Batman had a few setbacks before the hiring of Matt Reeves. Originally, The Batman was supposed to be written and directed by Ben Affleck, who would have also starred in the DC Comics movie. This didn’t end up happening and eventually Matt Reeves was brought in to write and direct The Batman with Robert Pattinson playing the titular hero and actors like Andy Serkis, Jeffrey Wright and Colin Farrell filling the rest of the film’s cast. Now, The Batman has officially kicked off production.

Earlier this week, Matt Reeves took to Twitter to announce that The Batman has started filming in the United Kingdom. The director shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the film’s set, showing that production is finally underway. You can check out his tweet below.

Full plot details on Robert Pattinson’s The Batman are being kept under lock and key, but we know that the movie will center around a younger Bruce Wayne and feature a Rogues’ Gallery of villains that includes Catwoman, The Penguin, and The Riddler. The Matt Reeves project will follow Batman during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector and will make use of the Dark Knight’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC films. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new Batman trilogy with Robert Pattinson.

Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, Jayme Lawson as Bella, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Colin Farrell as the Penguin, and Peter Sarsgaard.

The Batman hits theaters on June 25, 2021. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Robert Pattinson and the movie.
