The season premiere of The Book of Boba Fett detailed the titular character’s happenings after Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.

Spoilers ahead for the season premiere of The Book of Boba Fett.

The now-defunct “Expanded Universe’ of Star Wars lore always saw Boba Fett blasting his way out of the Sarlacc Pit after the events of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Canonically, things proved to be a bit more complicated, as the first episode of The Book of Boba Fett detailed just how the iconic bounty hunter escaped one of Tatooine’s most nefarious creatures.

In a heavily detailed flashback set after the on-screen events of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, Boba Fett is seen waking up inside the creature’s belly, slowly being digested. Discarding his imminent doom, Fett goes towards a dead Stormtrooper and uses a tube inside their helmet to get air. The bounty hunter then cuts open the Sarlacc’s stomach and uses his flamethrowers to get out.

The bounty hunter then claws his way through the stands of Tatooine but eventually passes out from exhaustion. The greedy Jawas eventually steal his armor and weapons. If that wasn’t enough to turn a bad day even worse, Boba Fett is later taken captive by the nefarious Tusken Raiders. After failing to escape numerous times, the bounty hunter finally gains some clout with the Tatooine natives after killing a creature that haunts them.

Right from the get-go, it’s clear that The Book of Boba Fett isn’t interested in hiding any of the character’s details after the events of the sixth Star Wars film. It wouldn’t be surprising if we got more flashbacks down the road that eventually show just how the iconic bounty hunter runs into Din Djarin.
