Angelina Jolie was recently seen filming Marvel’s The Eternals at Oxford University’s Museum of Natural History.
After months of speculation, it was announced earlier this summer that Angelina Jolie would be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe with The Eternals, a film that’s set to be sprawling epic, taking place over 7,000 years. One of the most anticipated projects in the Marvel pipeline, mostly due to Angelina Jolie’s street cred, The Eternals is expected to be the benchmark for cosmic storytelling in the MCU going forward.
With its expansive narrative, fans can expect key locations from all over Earth to pop up in The Eternals. One of these locations in Oxford University’s Museum of Natural History, best known for its expansive collection of relics and dinosaur fossils. The Oxford Mail, the iconic tabloid for Oxfordshire reported that Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, and Richard Madden were on hand to film scenes inside Oxford’s iconic museum.
Details on what the scene from Angelina Jolie’s The Eternals entailed are non-existent, but it would be a crime if the film didn’t utilize the elaborate relics and pieces that the Oxford museum has on hand. Seeing as the film will give us a crash course on Earth’s history, it makes sense that Angelina Jolie and the rest of The Eternals would be holed up in a museum that is of the caliber of Oxford.

Plot details for The Eternals remain under wraps, however, the story reportedly features a love story between Sersi and the Black Knight. Created by Jack Kirby in 1976, the Eternals are a fictional evolutionary offshoot of humanity created by the Celestials over a million years ago. The beings who possess superpowers and longer lifespans were the result of genetic experiments that led to the creation of fellow divergent races such as the Deviants (hideous monsters of human origin who are ancestors to the Atlanteans), and Latents (the predecessors to the Mutants and Mutates that make up many of Marvel’s superheroes).
Marvel Studios has tapped Chloe Zhao to direct the project from a script written by Matthew and Ryan Firpo. The cast of The Eternals includes Gemma Chan as Sersi, Kit Harington as the Black Knight, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Angelina Jolie as Thena, and Barry Keoghan as Druig.
The Eternals is set to hit theaters on November 6, 2020. Stay tuned for the latest news on the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
