‘The Eternals’ Cast Photo Suggests ‘Legion’ Star Dan Stevens Has A Role

The Eternals Dan Stevens Legion

A photo of the cast of The Eternals hanging out suggests that Dan Stevens, who played David “Legion” Haller in FX’s cult superhero series Legion, may have a future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Actor Kumail Nanjiani recently shared a photo of himself alongside his wife Emily Gordon, Brian Tyree Henry, and Dan Stevens in London. This happens to be where The Eternals is filming, and while it’s not surprising to see an actor with his wife and a fellow cast member, the presence of Legion actor Dan Stevens is certainly opening the door to speculation.

Dan Stevens is a native Londoner, so there’s a chance that they may have simply ran into each other. However, Dan Stevens previously had a major role in Beauty and the Beast as the titular misunderstood monster, and since FX is now Disney-owned, Legion further entrenches his ties to the company even though that show has been completed. It wouldn’t be out of the question to think that Dan Stevens might just be playing another superhero soon.

Plot details for The Eternals remain under wraps, however, the story reportedly features a love story between Sersi and the Black Knight. Created by Jack Kirby in 1976, the Eternals are a fictional evolutionary offshoot of humanity created by the Celestials over a million years ago. The beings who possess superpowers and longer lifespans were the result of genetic experiments that led to the creation of fellow divergent races such as the Deviants (hideous monsters of human origin who are ancestors to the Atlanteans), and Latents (the predecessors to the Mutants and Mutates that make up many of Marvel’s superheroes).

The cast of The Eternals includes Gemma Chan as Sersi, Kit Harington as the Black Knight, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Angelina Jolie as Thena, and Barry Keoghan as Druig. Reportedly, there are some key roles that have yet to be revealed to the public, leaving room for Dan Stevens to possibly have a part. Marvel Studios has tapped Chloe Zhao to direct the project from a script written by Matthew and Ryan Firpo.

The Eternals is set to be released on November 6, 2020. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on The Eternals, and the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we learn it.
