The Flash screenwriter Christina Hodson commented on what director Andy Muschietti can bring to the Ezra Miller film.
Over the past few years, Ezra Miller’s The Flash film has seen multiple directors join and leave the project over reported creative differences. Now, IT director Andy Muschietti has boarded The Flash film to realize a script penned by Birds of Prey writer Christina Hodson.
While Andy Muschietti may be best known for scaring audiences with films such as the IT and Mama, Christina Hodson noted that the director has proven he can give Ezra Miller’s The Flash heart and depth. During an interview with ComicBook.com, Hodson pointed to Andy Muschietti’s IT as an example of how the filmmaker can balance spectacle and character depth, something she would love to see in The Flash film:
“I think Andy’s fantastic. What I loved about IT, The first one, in particular, is that he can do scary, he can do big genre stuff, but he can also do real heart. He can give those characters real emotional depth. And that’s something that I would love to see in Flash.”
