During The CW’s panel at the Television Critics Association’s 2016 Summer Press Tour, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg confirmed that Dr. Alchemy and Savitar will be making their small screen debut in the upcoming third season of The Flash. While both of these additions are already exciting, Kreisberg also revealed that Gorilla Grodd will return in season three for a multi-episode story arc. Here’s what he had to say:
“Yes, we’re going to be doing a two-part episode that takes place in Gorilla City.”
The last time we saw Grodd in action was in the seventh episode of the second season (titled Gorilla Warfare), where he kidnapped Caitlin but was later defeated by Barry and the rest of the team after being shoved into a breach. In the closing moments of the episode, we found out that Grodd somehow ended up in Gorilla City, but it’s definitely going to be interesting to see why Barry will be visiting the location after all this time.
Blinded by anger, Barry unwittingly plays into Zoom’s game and uncovers the evil speedster’s true goal: to destroy all Earths in the multiverse. In the race of his life, Barry ultimately gets the upper hand against Zoom and defeats his nemesis. But unable to celebrate victory, Barry makes a world-shaking decision and speeds back in time to the night his mother died to stop Reverse Flash from killing her, irrevocably changing his past and redetermining his future.
The Flash will return on Tuesday, October 4, at 8/7c on The CW. Are you excited?
