The Mandalorian producer Dave Filoni recently spoke about his experience on the first season of the Star Wars show and can’t wait for fans to see the second season.
The Mandalorian released last year to massive praise from fans and critics, making it perhaps the least controversial piece of Star Wars media in what feels like a very long time. Among the main people in charge of The Mandalorian was none other than Star Wars: The Clone Wars producer/director Dave Filoni which was also among the more beloved recent installments. Production for the show’s second season is well underway, and Dave Filoni cannot wait for fans to see the upcoming season.
While speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Dave Filoni talked about how the first season of The Mandalorian gave him the experience in live-action to improve on the second season and how the reception energized them for it:
“It’s a lot of fun. Maybe that’s just me reacting to making it. Now that I have a year of it under my belt, doing live action — and I need so much more experience. I wrote in Clone Wars “experience outranks everything,” and I need to get some. So it was a great learning experience, working with a great team of people, working with Jon [Favreau]. I’ve applied what I’ve learned into the second season to the best of my abilities. And I think everything is getting better and better, and everyone was energized from the reaction we got from the first season. We’re looking forward to sharing it with everybody when we’re finished.”
