‘The Mandalorian’: First Images & Logo Revealed At Star Wars Celebration

New images and details for Jon Favreau’s new Star Wars live-action series The Mandalorian starring Pedro Pascal have been released.

This weekend is one to remember as Star Wars celebration wraps up in Chicago. The Celebration brought us many Star Wars-themed goodies, but capped of the weekend with a panel featuring the first ever, live-action Star Wars series. The Mandalorian will star Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones, Narcos) as the titular bounty hunter in a post Return of the Jedi adventure. Some new images dropped introducing new characters like Greef Carga, portrayed by Carl Weathers (Rocky, Predator), and Cara Dune, portrayed by Gina Carano (Deadpool).

The Mandalorian executive producer Jon Favreau is also a writer on the series and will bring in some heavy hitting directors for its first season. The first episode is to be directed by Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone wars, Star Wars Rebels). Also attached are Thor: Rangarok director Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom), Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones) and Dope director Rick Famuyiwa.

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Carl Weathers, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog, and Nick Nolte. The series was written by Jon Favreau, who also serves as an executive producer alongside Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist is also on board as a co-executive producer.

The Mandalorian will be available exclusively on Disney+ in 2019.
