The first official synopsis for The Marvels is here.
A synopsis for The Marvels was recently sent out to Brazilian journalists via the Disney press site, revealing new details about the upcoming Marvel Studios feature. The synopsis teases the film’s plot, which involves a team-up between Carol Danvers, Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan.
“Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe,” reads a translated version of the synopsis.
“When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan, Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team-up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as The Marvels.”
The return of four Marvel heroes
Directed by Candyman helmer Nia DaCosta, The Marvels serves as a direct sequel to three Marvel Studios projects — Captain Marvel, WandaVision and Ms. Marvel. The film also features the return of Nick Fury, with Samuel L. Jackson reprising the role after his six-episode Disney Plus series Secret Invasion.
Brie Larson most recently appeared as Captain Marvel in the post-credits scene of the Ms. Marvel finale on Disney Plus. The show’s official synopsis reads as follows: “Marvel Studios’ “Ms. Marvel” is a new, original series that introduces Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero mega fan with an oversized imagination — particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home — that is, until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with super powers, right?”
Ms. Marvel stars Iman Vellani, Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Matt Lintz, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Fawad Khan, Mehwish Hayat, and Farhan Akhtar. Episodes of the series were directed by Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah, Meera Menon and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, with Bisha K. Ali serving as the head writer. It’s currently available to stream on Disney Plus.
