A new promotional image for The Marvels offers fans their first look at the film’s superheroine trio.

Serving as a sequel to Captain Marvel and the recent Disney Plus shows WandaVision and Ms. Marvel, The Marvels is currently slated to hit theaters next year. Details regarding the movie, which is being directed by Candyman helmer Nia DaCosta, are being kept under lock and key, but we finally have our first look at its lead characters.

First look at The Marvels

A promotional image for The Marvels surfaced online this morning. The image features Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, with the three Marvel Cinematic Universe heroines suited up and ready for action. See them below.

The Marvels reportedly picks up up right where Ms. Marvel left off and sees Carol Danvers teaming up with Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau. The film also features the return of Nick Fury, with Samuel L. Jackson reprising the role after his six-episode Disney Plus series Secret Invasion.

Brie Larson most recently appeared as Captain Marvel in the post-credits scene of the Ms. Marvel finale on Disney Plus. The show’s official synopsis reads as follows: “Marvel Studios’ “Ms. Marvel” is a new, original series that introduces Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero mega fan with an oversized imagination — particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home — that is, until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with super powers, right?”

Ms. Marvel stars Iman Vellani, Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Matt Lintz, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Fawad Khan, Mehwish Hayat, and Farhan Akhtar. Episodes of the series were directed by Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah, Meera Menon and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, with Bisha K. Ali serving as the head writer. It’s currently available to stream on Disney Plus.
