According to its official Twitter profile, The Walking Dead will be getting a tenth season starting in October.
The second part of The Walking Dead‘s ninth season hasn’t even dropped yet, and we just received confirmation that the tenth season of the show will air later this year in October. The news came today via Twitter when the show’s official profile released this video starring the Whisperers and announcing the tenth season in a rather spooky manner:

While The Walking Dead series may be an excellent adaptation of its comic counterpart all the way through the first few seasons, the last seasons of the show have seen slower paced stories and fans were not enjoying them. Viewership for the series fell through the roof even with the inclusion of Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan, which is the franchise’s meanest and gruesome character that Rick Grimes and his group has ever faced.
Nonetheless, it’s safe to say that the last season improved with the Whisperers slowly taking the spotlight as the villains, and fans started to notice that the show’s resurgence is more than a mere possibility. In the comics, these characters posed an even greater threat than Negan and his Saviors because they could blend in with the walkers and even redirect the walker herds to where they wanted to.
One time they even gathered thousands of walkers in a quarry, to scare Rick Grimes into doing what they wanted. It’s a shame that we won’t get to see Rick Grimes tackling The Whisperers in the series as he did in the comics since he flew away in a helicopter the last time we saw him. The next time we’ll see Andrew Lincoln reprising his role as Rick will be in a TWD film which will allegedly be releasing this year.
