‘The Witcher’ Showrunner Has Seven Seasons Mapped Out For Henry Cavill Series

The Witcher Henry Cavill Geralt Superman

The Witcher showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich has seven seasons mapped out for the upcoming Henry Cavill series.

Despite The Witcher not hitting Netflix for another month, Lauren S. Hissrich has revealed that she has seven seasons of the Henry Cavill series mapped out. She confirmed that The Witcher has not been renewed for a second season as of yet, but she believes that by thinking ahead, she can deliver a better product for fans.

In a recent interview with SFX (issue 320) to promote the highly-anticipated Henry Cavill series, she discussed how it would be an awful waste of time to direct all of the production’s energy on just the first season of The Witcher.

“I’ve [mapped out stories] for seven seasons. Right now it’s just about, ‘how do you set up stories that really capture audiences for years at a time?’ The worst thing we could do is put all of our energies just into season one, and not be thinking about where these characters can grow to.”

This is a pretty logical way to go about it, especially for a property as complex and intriguing as The Witcher. While it’s probably a given that Henry Cavill’s The Witcher will have have multiple seasons, seven is certainly a big number. However, that does put The Witcher close to Game of Thrones territory, which has eight seasons. There’s certainly a wealth of information and content for Lauren S. Hissrich to dig into as there are multiple Witcher books and games.
