Warning: The following post contains spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War

Fans have been on the lookout for any easter eggs they could find in Avengers: Infinity War this weekend and one may have been found involving a cameo from a former Marvel Cinematic Universe director.

Avengers: Infinity War is finally in theaters and fans were pleasantly surprised at how much thor they got in the film. The Asgardians revenge story arc is a large part of the film and is essential to the emotional impact in the climax of the film. So with Infinity War pushing the Asgardian royalty into the spotlight, it is only fitting that the man that helmed his first solo outing would make his way into the already jam-packed thrid Avengers sequel. Director Kenneth Branagh has an alleged place in the Infinity War legacy.

Fans wondering how they could have missed the Murder on The Orient Express actor in the film can rest easy as his cameo isn’t that visual. While it has not been confirmed, one with a keen ear can point out what inevitably could be Kenneth Branagh’s distinct voice in the early parts of the film. When Thanos is ravaging the Asgardian ship a transmission can be heard amongst all the chaos. The transmission states the following:

“This is the Asgardian refugee vessel Statesman…We are under assault. I repeat, we are under assault. Engines are dead. Life support failing. Requesting aid from any vessel within range…Our crew is made up of Asgardian families, we have very few soldiers here. This is not a warcraft. I repeat, this is NOT a warcraft.”

Branagh is not officially a member of the cast and this is all speculation at this point. But one should not put it past the Russo Brothers to sneak in a former MCU veteran. The art of having directors cameo in other films within the franchise is not new. Disney’s other mega franshise Star Wars has done this several times. the most recent being Rogue One director Gareth Edwards cameo in The Last Jedi. So all signs somewhat point to yes that is Kenneth Branagh oin the film. Not all directors have had a pleasnt experience with Marvel. Fortunately, Branagh is not on that list and before the release of Ragnarok expressed his excitement to see the film.

It is safe to say that this Easter Egg is a solid find and will hopefully be proven once the dust settles from Avengers: Infinity War’s massive weekend opening.

Do you think that’s Kenneth Brabagh voice in Infinity War? Be sure to share your thoughts in the comment section.
