‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Leads Social Media Buzz For Third Week In A Row

Variety reports that Thor: Ragnarok is continuing to dominate social media buzz with 29,400 new conversations this past week.

Marvel Studios released artwork for Thor: Ragnarok in Empire Magazine on August 4th following the new trailer at San Diego Comic-Con.

Thor: Ragnarok has generated a total of more than 800,000 new conversations to date. The third Thor film is set for release on November 3rd, and will be directed by Taika Waititi starring Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, Karl Urban, and Anthony Hopkins.

Coming in second this week was Fox’s Deadpool 2 with 28,800 new conversations last week. The movie was bolstered by the release of first-look images of Zazie Beetz, who will be playing Domino, and Josh Brolin, who will be playing Cable. The film will open June 1st, 2018.

Next up was Star Wars: The Last Jedi with 19,000 new conversations. Lucasfilm announced a new Hasbro toy line and John Boyega gave some details about the film as he promoted his newest movie Detroit. With 2.28 million conversations to date, The Last Jedi will be released on December 15th.

Fourth on this week’s list is Annabelle: Creation, the new horror spinoff from New Line. Having produced 14,700 new conversations last week, the film will be released on August 11th. The director of the film, David F. Sandberg, will be helming DC’s upcoming Shazam! film.

Finally, Justice League rounds out this week’s list with 14,500 new conversations. This comes on the heels of a new trailer released after San Diego Comic-Con.  The Justice League will assemble when the film hits theaters on November 17th.
