‘Thor: Ragnarok’: New BTS Video Shows Off More Revealing Details

A new behind-the-scenes look at Thor: Ragnarok has been released, teasing meetings with Loki and maybe the return of Mjolnir.

Entertainment Tonight has released a new behind-the-scenes video from this November’s Thor: Ragnarok, highlighting how the movie was shot, where it was shot, the interactions with fans and plenty of Chris Hemsworth to go around.

As usual, the newest Marvel Cinematic Universe movie’s plot remains under tight lock and key, but the video does give a few interesting new looks at costumes, sets and pre-effects shots that could lead to any number of real scenarios in the movie. We see Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster secure Thor pre-haircut in a large chair, and Thor himself post-haircut is seen holding his hand up, as if to receive Mjolnir. But the trailer shows Mjolnir is destroyed before Thor goes to the barber, so could he receive it or a new one back afterwards?

There’s also an intriguing shot of Loki in his old costume being confronted by Thor menacingly. This could suggest that Loki’s imitation of Odin could be discovered by Thor quite early on, leading to their Earthbound search hinted at in the post-credits scene for Doctor Strange.

As for the epic, highly-anticipated gladiatorial match-up between the God of Thunder and The Hulk and the approach to the whole movie in general, Chris Hemsworth is quoted:

“Before we’d even written the script, it was like ‘We want to centre it around this’, and I thought ‘well…I’m in!’ I was like ‘More! More! What else can we throw in?’ and what can we do that we haven’t done before.

You can watch the video below.

Directed by Taika Waititi, Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson,  Karl Urban, Mark Ruffalo and Anthony Hopkins. Here’s the official synopsis:

In Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok—the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization—at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger—the Incredible Hulk!
