‘Thor: Ragnarok’ & ‘Black Panther’ SDCC Banners Revealed

Black Panther Thor: Ragnarok SDCC BannersOne month ahead of San Diego Comic Con 2017, banners for both the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok, as well as the upcoming Black Panther film, have been spotted outside of the convention center in San Diego, CA.

Marvel has already released the teaser trailers for both Thor: Ragnarok and Black Panther but the films are expected to have a strong presence at the convention next month. With Thor: Ragnarok, it’s highly possible a full-length trailer could make its debut.

The new banners were captured by freelance photographer Pat Loika and shared on Twitter. The banner for the new Thor features the same key art as the official poster released in April, however, the Black Panther banner looks to be a new image which could perhaps be concept art for a new mask worn by T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) in the film.

You can check out the new banners shared on Twitter below.

Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth as the titular character, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Sir Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster, Karl Urban as Skurge and Sam Neill in an undisclosed role. The film hits theaters on November 3rd.

Directed by Ryan Coogler, Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke,  Florence Kasumba, Sterling K. Brown, Andy Serkis and John Kan. The film hits theaters on February 16, 2018.

Black Panther

This past Friday, after previously seeing the first poster for Black Panther, the main event came later that night. While we watched the NBA Finals, hoping to see the Warrior sweep the Cavs (Lebron wasn’t having any of that), fans were treated to the teaser trailer for Marvel’s Black Panther. Shortly afterward, the trailer was released online for everyone’s consumption.

Pretty much for the next 24 hours, the teaser has been endlessly viewed and talked about on social media as well as in person. The trailer was incredibly exciting, fun, fresh, and everything fans of the character have hoped for ever since he was first introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Captain America: Civil War. We got to see T’challa, the Dora Milaje, and countless other goodies to introduce us to the world of Wakanda. The movie, with a 90% African/African American cast, will be a superhero first and give audiences something completely brand new.
