Early ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Concept Art Reveals Alternate Look For Chris Hemsworth

New concept art for Chris Hemsworth in Thor: Ragnarok shows off a road-weary version of the hero before he tackled Hela, Sakaar and the Grandmaster.

Chris Hemsworth’s Thor went through a few different costumes during Ragnarok, so it isn’t surprising that Marvel Studios designed multiple looks for the hero. Before Thor fought with Hela and crash landed on Sakaar, he’d been searching for Thanos and the Infinity Stones but hadn’t had much success. The new concept art gives fans an idea of what Chris Hemsworth could have looked like in the opening of Thor: Ragnarok.

The concept art shows off Thor with long untidy hair and a large beard while also wearing battleworn armor. It’s easy to see elements of the design that made it into the final film, like the solo shoulder armor and the straps holding it all in place. It’s clearly meant to show a road-weary Thor after travelling through the cosmos for quite some time. The design from Andy Park is simple but effective, as even the smallest details make a difference, like the torn red cape hanging behind Chris Hemsworth’s Thor.
