Marvel’s upcoming new film Thor: Ragnarok seems to function as more of a standalone adventure for the God of Thunder and the Incredible Hulk that has minimal ties to the previous two films. Taika Waititi’s film will not only address the breakup between Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) but will also reveal the fates of Thor’s friends Lady Sif and the Warriors Three.
Sif (Jamie Alexander), Fandral (Zachary Levi), Volstagg (Ray Stevenson) and Hogun (Tadanobu Asano) have not been shown in any promotional material for the highly-anticipated sequel. Instead, we have seen much more of Thor along with the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Loki (Tom Hiddleston), the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson). But for those who are worried that we will not find out about where Sif and the Warriors Three are doing, they can rest assured that we will indeed find out.
ScreenRant spoke with producer Brad Winderbaum on the set of the film. Winderbaum was asked if fans won’t be seeing anything regarding Sif and the Warriors Three in the film. He was also asked if we will find out about their fates, to which Winderbaum replied:
“Um… That’s not necessarily the case. And yes.”
Given the producer’s response, we will see the status of these four characters in Thor: Ragnarok. But given the fact that Taika Waititi has stated that the film will be one of the shortest in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it will be interesting to see how they factor into the story.
What do you think happened to Lady Sif and Warriors Three? Do you think they are still alive and will help their old friend in the action against Hela (Cate Blanchett)? Sound off in the comments below, and be sure to continue following Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news regarding the MCU.
