Terminator: Dark Fate director Tim Miller provided an update on his planned Kitty Pryde X-Men spin-off.

Fox was developing various Marvel projects before the entire company was bought by Disney. Now, the future of the X-Men franchise lies with Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios. It is expected that Marvel Studios will reboot the X-Men franchise and keep Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool. One project that was developed at Fox before Marvel Studios assumed control of the X-Men properties was a Kitty Pryde film from Deadpool and Terminator: Dark Fate director Tim Miller.

Tim Miller was attached to the Kitty Pryde film alongside legendary comic book writer Brian Michael Bendis. With Marvel Studios currently mapping out the future of the MCU, it doesn’t look like Tim Miller’s Kitty Pryde X-Men spin-off will be apart of their future plans. While promoting Terminator: Dark Fate, Tim Miller admitted to ComicBook.com that he doesn’t think he will return to the X-Men franchise despite his excitement for the Kitty Pryde movie:

“I love the X-Men. I don’t expect Marvel to call me and say, ‘Come do the X-Men,’ so I’m not waiting for that. I was really excited about my Kitty Pryde movie. F**k, I love that movie. It’ll never happen now.”

Kitty Pryde was played by Ellen Paige in X-Men: The Last Stand and Days of Future Past. Would you like to see Tim Miller direct another X-Men film? Do you hope Kitty Pryde factors into Marvel Studios’ X-Men plans? Comment below!
