Titans actor Brenton Thwaites recently opened up about what it’s like to work with Game Of Thrones‘ Iain Glen who was recently cast Bruce Wayne/Batman.
Speaking to Red Carpet Report, Titans actor Brenton Thwaites, who plays Dick Grayson/Robin in the DC Universe series spoke about season two of the show. He opened up about how he’s excited to continue his role as Dick Grayson, teasing Nightwing in the process, and also how nice it was to work alongside Iain Glen. The Game of Thrones star was cast to portray Bruce Wayne/Batman for Titans in April.
Brenton Thwaites praised Iain Glen as a wonderful actor that brings a lot of experience to the set of Titans, which ultimately makes him a great choice to play Bruce Wayne:
“He’s a wonderful actor. A lot of fans know him from Game Of Thrones. He’s an actor that carries that gravitas, you know? He’s a theatrically trained, film actor. He carries the experience, the mannerisms, his voice. He’s a lovely guy to work with and we’re all super excited to have someone like him in the show.”
When asked about his voice as Bruce Wayne, he compared it to what Christian Bale sounds like, defining it as classy and gruff:
“It’s pretty good. I don’t know how a Bruce Wayne accent should sound like. Kind of like Christian Bale? A little different? It’s good: it’s classy and gruff. “
Titans showed us that Brenton Thwaites’ Dick Grayson was fed up with Batman and that he no longer wanted to be connected to the Robin persona. In the comics, Dick Grayson drops the mantle of Robin to become Nightwing and fight for Blüdhaven. Brenton Thwaites’ character arc in the first season of Titans sure looks like Nightwing appearing in the second season is a big possibility. Well, Brenton Thwaites’ current look seems to tease Nightwing’s appearance in Titans very soon. Although this might be a longshot, how Brenton Thwaites’ Dick Grayson has developed in the series and how he’s trying to distance himself from Batman may be an indication of Nightwing appearing in the series. Nightwing is also heavily featured in the Titans comic books, so we have that as background as well.
