During an interview with TVLine, Titans star Brenton Thwaites hinted at the identity of the main villain while executive producer Geoff Johns discussed Dick Grayson’s future as Nightwing.
So far, the series has centered around Dick Grayson’s efforts to protect Raven from sinister forces, but the identity of the main antagonist remain a mystery at this point. Actor Brenton Thwaites stated that there is a “big bad” this season, but only offered small hints about the villain’s identity:
“The evil force on this show has multiple different colors and visions; it is a human, played by a human actor; and there are sci-fi elements to it.”
Of course, Thwaites added that the villain in question will be a formidable foe:
“[The villain] requires us all to band together, to use all our skills to overcome him.”
Meanwhile, Geoff Johns concurred with executive producer Akiva Goldsman’s comment on how Dick Grayon’s eventual transformation into Nightwing is part of a “long game”:
“Obviously, Dick Grayson’s evolution from Robin to Nightwing is a big part of his character, and at some point he will evolve into that.”
