‘Harry Potter’ Star Tom Felton On Potentially Returning As Draco Malfoy

Harry Potter Tom Felton Draco Malfoy

Tom Felton, whom starred in all eight Harry Potter movies as the titular hero’s schoolyard nemesis Draco Malfoy sounds off on potentially reprising his role.

The Draco Malfoy actor spoke with Daily Mail and was asked about the prospect of returning to the role at some point in time. Here is what Tom Felton had to say about a potential return to the Harry Potter film franchise:

“Yeah, I’m endlessly proud and affectionate of young Draco, so any chance to reprise that role would be great. I think we should come back and do the opposite, Rupert [Grint] should play Draco, I’ll play Hermione, Dan can play Dobby, and Emma can be Hagrid, it’s the perfect re-casting! It’ll be an interesting spin [on it]. But, seriously, if there was another chance to be in another movie then I’m sure all of us would jump at the chance to be part of it.”

By the end of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, an epilogue set 19 years later shows Tom Felton’s Draco Malfoy as an adult dropping off his children at Platform 9 3/4 for their school year at Hogwarts. Although the two aren’t friends, Draco Malfoy greets Harry Potter with a nod in the book.

Tom Felton’s Draco Malfoy is a character in J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany’s play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which is officially the eighth story in the Harry Potter series set right after the epilogue to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It wouldn’t be surprising if at some point in the future, Warner Bros. Pictures and J.K. Rowling agreed to adapt the play to the screen, and all of the original actors would play the grown up versions of their characters without having to use makeup to age their likenesses, which would include Tom Felton’s Draco Malfoy.

The untitled third Fantastic Beasts film will hit theaters on November 12, 2021.
