Tom Hanks announced that he and his wife Rita Wilson both tested positive for the coronavirus.
As fears over the coronavirus spread continue to cause event cancellations and movie delays, actor Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson have both caught the virus while staying in Australia. The news comes shortly after the cancellation of E3 2020, Emerald Comic-Con and South by South West (SXW). There’s currently been 129, 605 cases of the coronavirus across the world, but it’s worth knowing that of those cases 68, 670 people recovered from it. Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are two of the 56, 186 globally active cases.
Tom Hanks took to Instagram to tell fans that he and Rita had caught coronavirus, explaining that they’d been suffering from colds, body aches, slight chills and even fevers before getting tested for the virus. He noted that getting tested was the right thing to do, and they’ll be tested and observed while in isolation. The star also mentioned that the only thing to do is to take it “one-day-at-a-time.” Out of all the cases so far, 4,749 people have died from the virus and the World Health Organization recently classified the virus as a pandemic, which means it’s gone worldwide. Although the coronavirus is obviously worrying, the star seemed reasonably positive about his condition on Instagram, using a photo of a disposable glove for the post. He signed off by telling fans to take care of themselves in the worrying situation.
