Tom Hardy Wants ‘Venom’ To Crossover With Marvel’s ‘Avengers’

Marvel fans aren’t the only ones hoping to see Venom as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Tom Hardy himself is hoping to see his version of the anti-hero appear alongside The Avengers.

Speaking with MTV International, Hardy defended the film’s PG-13 rating as he explained that he’d like to see Venom play in the same sandbox as Earth’s Mightiest Heroes:

“My littlest ones, they watch Spider-Man and Venom quite comfortably…so it’s not like they’re scared by him. At the same time, there’s a lot within the real estate that you can actually imbue with a complete sense of gratuitous violence, and if you wanted to I think you’ve got the right people for that job if you want to push, because that’s where I’d love to go, and I’d love to go through all of the Avengers as well with him, but that’s above my pay grade.”

Hardy went on to add that he has no problem with Venom remaining as a Spider-Man spin-off as there’s more than enough characters to explore under the Lethal Protector’s umbrella:

“We’re more than happy to standalone. We have a Venomverse and 900 characters to play with. But  I think there’s a little bit… I want to run with the established family, why not?”
