Tom Hiddleston’s Loki series for Disney Plus has found its director Kate Herron.

At Disney’s D23 Expo, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige revealed that Kate Herron will direct Tom Hiddleston’s Loki series. Kate Herron’s previous work includes Netflix’s Sex Education and she will soon helm an episode of Daybreak, so Loki is in good hands. Not much is currently known about Tom Hiddleston’s Loki series except that it will follow the God of Mischief through key moments in time.

Tom Hiddleston’s Loki was among the first casualties in Infinity War. After a failed attempt to assassinate Thanos, Josh Brolin’s Mad Titan choked Loki to death. The God of Mischief would eventually return in Avengers: Endgame in the 2012 timeline where he stole the Cosmic Cube from the Avengers before making his escape. The Loki series will reportedly revolve around this version of the character.

Earlier this summer, Tom Hiddleston mentioned that his Loki series is set to begin production early next year. Rick and Morty writer Michael Waldron will be the showrunner of the Disney Plus project. He’s also writing the pilot.

Tom Hiddleston’s Loki was last seen in Avengers: Endgame. Here is the official synopsis for the movie:

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo,  Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.

Avengers: Endgame is now available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD. Meanwhile, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki series is currently scheduled to premiere in the spring of 2021.
