Tom Hiddleston’s Loki has officially been renewed for a seasoned season at Disney Plus.
In a surprising bit of news, Marvel and Disney Plus have renewed Tom Hiddleston’s Loki for a second season. In lieu of the formal Marvel mid-credits scene that teases a future project, a brief animation was shown that confirmed that the series was renewed for another season. No other details have been revealed regarding the renewal, though it is expected that most of the series’ major players will be returning. It’s currently unknown when the second season will begin production.
Loki is the first Marvel series to get a renewal on the streaming service. WandaVision, the first show in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was labeled as a limited series. Meanwhile, Disney Plus still hasn’t renewed The Falcon and The Winter Soldier for a second season, though a fourth Captain America film is in development that directly springboards off the show. While both WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier ended on definitive notes, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki concluded on a cataclysmic cliffhanger that, without getting into spoilers, could change the very fabric of the MCU.
