According to a new report by The Wall Street Journal, Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley’s upcoming film Chaos Walking is undergoing major reshoots after being deemed “unreleasable.”
Spider-Man actor Tom Holland is set to team-up with Star Wars actress Daisy Ridley in a new film titled Chaos Walking, but the high-profile project has been experiencing some behind-the-scenes drama that included Lionsgate announcing it will not make its original release date of March 2019. Now, Chaos Walking is in the midst of extensive re-shoots after the initial cut of the Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley film was deemed “unreleasable,” according to a Wall Street Journal source:
“[The first cut of Chaos Walking] turned out so poorly that it was deemed unreleasable by executives who watched initial cuts last year, according to current and former employees.”
In addition to Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley, Chaos Walking stars Mads Mikkelsen, Nick Jonas, and David Oyelowo. The project is helmed by Doug Liman, the director of Edge of Tomorrow, from a script co-written by Charlie Kaufman, Jamie Linden, Patrick Ness, Lindsey Beer, Gary Spinelli, and John Lee Hancock. The budget for Chaos Walking is reportedly over $100 million now with reshoots.
