Tom Holland Spider-Man Captain America Civil War

From 2011 to 2014, select Marvel Blu-Rays and digital releases included short films known as One-Shots. These brief self-contained stories gave fans an extra treat and an extra glimpse into parts of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to one Marvel star, One-Shots could soon be making a comeback.

While speaking with Uproxx about Spider-Man: Homecoming, Tom Holland (Spider-Man) expressed interest in seeing Ant-Man show up โ€œevery now and againโ€ in future Spider-Man films. As he was talking, Holland said he wanted to do a short with Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) and teased that One-Shots could be returning.

After Tom Holland said, โ€œI want to do a short. Thatโ€™s what I want to do. I want to do a 20-minute short with me and Paul Ruddโ€ฆโ€ Uproxx writer Mike Ryan mentioned to the actor that they used to do shorts like that, referencing the One-Shots. To this, Holland said: โ€œYeah. I think they are planning on doing it again,โ€ before adding, โ€œI probably just spoiled a big spoiler. Kevin Feigeโ€™s probably going to be furious.โ€

The cat may or may not be out of the bag as it were, but it sounds as if Tom Holland knows something about a potentialย return of Marvel One-Shots.

Previous One-Shots includeย The Consultant (2011), A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thorโ€™s Hammer (2011), Item 47 (2012), Agent Carter (2013), and All Hail the King (2014).

Spider-Man: Homecomingย swings into theaters on July 7, 2017. The film features a cast that includes Tom Holland as Peter Parker (Spider-Man), Robert Downey Junior as Tony Stark (Iron Man), Zendaya Coleman as Michelle, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Tony Revolori as โ€œFlashโ€ Thompson, Laura Harrier as Liz Allan, Marisa Tomei as May Parker, Jon Favreau as Harold โ€œHappyโ€ Hogan, Michael Keaton as Adrian Toomes (Vulture), Bokeem Woodbine as Herman Schultz (Shocker), and Michael Chernus as Phineas Mason (Tinkerer).
