Tom Holland Wants His Spider-Man To Fight Venom And Doctor Octopus

Tom Holland Spider-Man Captain America Civil War

When asked about what two supervillains Tom Holland would like his iteration of Spider-Man to fight the most, the answers were surprisingly a bit familiar โ€“ and they were both previously featured in the Sam Raimi trilogy.

ScreenRant has been on a roll with Spider-Man: Homecomingย interviews as of late, and at one point they got a chance to talk with Spider-Man actor Tom Holland about who heโ€™d like to fight while he plays Spider-Man. He answered with two of the most popular villains in the webslingerโ€™s Roguesโ€™ Gallery:

โ€œOh, well I love Doc Ock. I think Spider-Man 2 is one of the greatest superhero movies ever made. But I think Venom is someone Iโ€™d love to kick the crap out of one day.โ€

Of these two, itโ€™s easier to imagine that Doctor Octopus will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the future. Venom is probably a more complicated point as long as Sony continues with their questionably-advised, MCU-free spin-offs, as Sony evidently has their own plans for the character. Itโ€™s incredibly unlikely that the Sony-Verse movies are going to cross over into the MCU or vice-versa, so itโ€™s still possible that Marvel will want to have their own take on Venom at a much later point in time.

Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters on July 7, 2017. The film features a cast that includes Tom Holland as Peter Parker (Spider-Man), Robert Downey Junior as Tony Stark (Iron Man), Zendaya Coleman as Michelle, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Tony Revolori as โ€œFlashโ€ Thompson, Laura Harrier as Liz Allan, Marisa Tomei as May Parker, Jon Favreau as Harold โ€œHappyโ€ Hogan, Michael Keaton as Adrian Toomes (Vulture), Bokeem Woodbine as Herman Schultz (Shocker), and Michael Chernus as Phineas Mason (Tinkerer). A sequel is planned for release on July 5, 2019.
