Spider-Man: No Way Home star Tom Holland has commented on those Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield rumors.

While we know that Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus and Jamie Foxx’s Electro will appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home, it hasn’t been confirmed if previous Spider-Men will pop up. One of the long persisting rumors has been that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield have been tapped to return as their respective Peter Parkers for the upcoming threequel. Despite mounting evidence suggesting otherwise, Garfield has denied his involvement in the Marvel film, and Maguire hasn’t spoken about it.

In a surprising turn of events, Marvel Studios’ go-to spoiler guy Tom Holland has restrained himself leading up to the film. Notorious for dropping plot details prematurely, Holland hasn’t let it slip if Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire are in the film. In a recent interview with Empire, the Spider-Man star didn’t comment on the rumors and played coy.

“I don’t know. I’m always in the dark. If they are, no-one’s told me.”

It’s obviously hard to imagine Tom Holland not knowing if there are two co-stars in the film but it is admirable that he hasn’t let a potential reveal slip, even if it has been part of the rumor mill for the better part of a year. Holland recently teased that she shot one of his “coolest scenes ever” with a mysterious character. The scene sees Peter Parker, Aunt May, and Happy Hogan discussing what it means to be a superhero with a fourth mysterious person. Could this person be another superhero?

Here is the synopsis for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: No Way Home:

“For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero. When he asks for help from Doctor Strange the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.”

Directed by Jon Watts from a script written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, No Way Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, Martin Starr, J.B. Smoove, Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau, Benedict Wong, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Alfred Molina.

No Way Home is currently set to be released on December 17, 2021. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the film and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
