Tom Holland and his Spider-Man: Homecoming co-star Laura Harrier sat down with Brazillian web-site CinePOP to talk about the highly anticipated Sony/Marvel reboot film. In the interview, Holland expressed his excitement for playing the Wall-Crawler in his own movie:
You know, it’s a dream come true, I’ve wanted to be Spider-Man since I was a little kid and now it’s actually becoming a reality. Even after Civil War it didn’t feel… real… but now it’s finally hitting me, it’s not actually a dream and I can’t quite believe it’s coming true.
In addition to his excitement for playing Spider-Man, Tom Holland also clearly knows a lot about the comics. Holland expressed his enthusiasm for bringing in Spider-Girl, Peter Parker’s female clone, into the fold for a potential sequel.
There’s so many good villains, I really like Mysterio, I like Kraven. I really like the Clone Saga. I think it could be really cool if Peter, or Spider-Man has to fight people with the same powers as him. Spider-Woman’s super cool… I think she’s called Spider-Girl who is his clone. They kind of like hit it off and they take their masks off and they’re like… [shocked look] What the hell! They’re like the same person, but she’s just a girl. I think that’s really cool.
Spider-Man: Homecoming stars Tom Holland and Harrier as Peter Parker and Liz Allen, respectively, along with Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, and Michael Keaton as the Vulture. The film’s full plot synopsis is below:
