Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios have officially greenlit an adult animated series based on Mister Miracle, the award-winning comic by Tom King and Mitch Gerads. The project adapts the Eisner Award–winning 12-issue series, which redefined the character of Scott Free through an emotionally complex, genre-blending story. A network for the series has yet to be announced.
Mister Miracle is the second adult animated series coming from the new DC Studios regime following the positive reception to Creature Commandos. That show, which premiered its first season on HBO Max, is already deep into production on season two. Meanwhile, Warner Bros. Animation and DC have continued to expand their animated offerings, with other new projects including Starfire!, My Adventures with Green Lantern, and DC Super Powers.

The official description of the series reads: “No prison can hold him. No trap can contain him. He is Scott Free, the worldwide celebrity sensation known as Mister Miracle, and he is the greatest escape artist who ever lived. But can he pull off the ultimate trick — and escape death itself?”

DC Studios’ animated slate under James Gunn and Peter Safran continues to push boundaries, and Mister Miracle appears poised to do the same. With Tom King and Mitch Gerads’ source material as the foundation, fans can expect a deeply human and psychologically intense take on one of DC’s most underrated characters.
