‘Crisis On Infinite Earths’ Makes Major Change To Tom Welling’s Superman

We have at last seen Tom Welling’s Superman on the CW’s Crisis On Infinite Earths and the crossover has made a major change to his character.

MAJOR SPOILERS FROM CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS AHEAD!

In Crisis On Infinite Earths, a newly resurrected Lex Luthor begins moving across the multiverse in an attempt to wipe out every Superman that has ever existed. During one of his stops, Lex Luthor confronts Tom Welling’s Superman from the Smallville universe. It becomes very obvious however that something is off about him.

Lex Luthor attempts to take Tom Welling’s Superman down with a piece of kryptonite only for the Smallville hero to take the alien rock and chuck it across a field. Tom Welling’s Superman then reveals that he had long since given up his power. When Lex Luthor asks why he has his question answered when he steps on a toy. It’s obvious that Tom Welling’s Superman gave up his power in order to settle down and start a family.

Crisis On Infinite Earths will span two quarters and consist of Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, and Batwoman. The Arrowverse crossover will launch with three episodes in December before concluding with two additional episodes in January.

In addition to the regular cast members of each Arrowverse series, Crisis on Infinite Earths will also feature appearances by Tyler Hoechlin as Superman, Brandon Routh as Clark Kent/Superman and Ray Palmer/The Atom, LaMonica Garrett as the Anti-Monitor, Jon Cryer as Lex Luthor, Tom Cavanagh as Pariah, Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane, Cress Williams as Black Lightning, Kevin Conroy as Bruce Wayne, Johnathon Schaech as Jonah Hex, Erica Durance as Lois Lane, Tom Welling as Clark Kent / Superman, Ashley Scott Will as Huntress, and Burt Ward in an undisclosed role.
