Robert Downey Jr. stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night and might have indirectly confirmed a small rumor that’s been floating around for a few. We’ve already heard that other characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe will pop up in Spider-Man: Homecoming and it looks like we might know one already. When asked by Kimmel if there’s a chance we might see Tony Stark appear in the filmhitting theaters next summer, Downey didn’t shoot down the possibility and stated the following.
Perhaps I will, we don’t have a contract yet.
The key word being “yet” here which seems to imply that there’s been discussions about a role for Downey in the film which kicks off production very soon. Of course, he can’t confirm that one with the Marvel Snipers hiding out somewhere in the audience. The actor then went on to comment about his love for the character and how “Spider-Man, that was my whole deal…He was funny, he was cool, he was young like us”. Additionally, Downey praised Tom Holland in the role calling him “fantastic”. Sound off with your thoughts on the possibile appearance of Tony Stark in the upcoming film below.
