Tony Zucco Will Appear On DC’s ‘Titans’ TV Series

Titans Robin Brenton ThwaitesHeroic Hollywood can confirm that Tony Zucco will appear On DC Entertainment’s Titans series for their new streaming platform.

Zucco is deeply seeded in Batman and Robin mythology as he is responsible for the murder of Dick Grayson’s family. This would lead to Bruce Wayne adopting Grayson and him later becoming Robin. Batman and Robin would later track down Zucco and have him arrested for his crimes. Zucco’s inclusion on the series makes a lot of sense as the Titans are usually Robin centric and having an episode that relays his backstory to those who may not be informed would work swimmingly.

Titans follows a group of young superheroes from all over the DC Universe when Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of the fearless band of new heroes known as the Titans.

The long in development live-action adaptation series hails from Weed Road Pictures and Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. The series is written by DC president and creative chief officer Geoff Johns, Akiva Goldsman (Star Trek: Discovery) and Greg Berlanti (Arrow, DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow, The Flash, Supergirl) with Goldsman, Johns and Berlanti Prods’ Berlanti and Sarah Schechter serving as executive producers.

Titans stars Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson, Anna Diop as Starfire, Teagan Croft as Raven, Lindsey Gort as Detective Amy Rohrbach, Alan Ritchson as Hawk, Minka Kelly as Dove, and Ryan Potter as Beast Boy. Here’s the official synopsis:

“Titans explores one of the most popular comic book teams ever. It follows a group of young soon-to-be superheroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In the action-adventure series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes that includes Starfire, Raven and others.”

Titans is set to premiere sometime in 2018 with 13-episodes on DC’s upcoming digital service. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on Tiatans as we learn it.

Batman Family DC ComicsBatman may be one of the world’s best superheroes, but not even he does everything alone. The Caped Crusader is a member of superhero teams like the Justice League and the Outsiders, but he also fights with a roster of sidekicks who help him whenever things get tough. He may be sharp on the battlefield, but even this kung fu master needs someone to watch his back occasionally.

In addition to helping him fight and plan battles, these sidekicks all help draw Batman from his inner darkness. Whenever he is left alone, Batman tends to revert back to his depressed, inner-state, and his partners bring him joy. Without Robin, Batman is nothing, and without his whole Bat-Family, Batman couldn’t continue to exist.

I think it would be fitting if they cast John Travolta as Tony Zucco.
