Top 10 Moments From The Official ‘Wonder Woman’ Trailer

Wonder Woman

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad received mixed reactions from fans and critics but one thing everyone appeared to agree upon was the excitement surrounding the women in DC properties. Diana Prince/Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) was a standout in Batman v Superman and Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) won fans over in Squad.

Next year, the women will take center stage for DC. 2017 will mark the first time that Wonder Woman will appear in her own solo movie and the second trailer has arrived!

This trailer shows off more of the storyline, Diana herself and the intense level of action that this film plans to bring to the big screen. You can check it out below.

You forgot to include the (potentially)best part…..

    2:02 of the trailer.

They’ve been rather vague about whether she’ll be able to do this in the movie, but I think that little snippet confirms it.

    • Darthmanwe

Gal Gadot said something about flight before BvS launch along the lines of:

“She can jump very high, sort of like flying but not really”

I distinctly remember that part, because that’s always been my one big gripe with lackluster canon fanboys, not knowing that WW gets that particular power from Hermes, directly, as a blessing.

In this cinematic setting, she wouldn’t expressly have them, or need to, when you can frigging jump city blocks at a time.

That snippet looks more like a big jump to catch someone high up in the air, rather than flight.

      • Peter James

But the very last scene before the logo comes up as she’s crossing her arm bands with the lighting sparks, if you scroll just shortly before that, you see that she’s doing it while hovering mid-air.

        She flies.

Take a look again and see for yourself.

        • Darthmanwe

          I did.

ANd I think you are doing wishful thinking, that seems like a slo mo effect.

          • Peter James

            If you say so.

Fact of the matter is that you don’t know any more about this movie than I do, and my own perspective – based not on wishful thinking, by observation – is that she’s flying.

            You disagree.
We’ll see who’s correct when the movie is released.

          • SAMURAI36

That’s not a slo-mo effect. The energy is cascading off her bracelets way too fast.

      • SAMURAI36

Nope, in the trailer, she is clearly seen hovering at 2:02 of the trailer.

Also, what you refer to as a “jump”, you can also see her “arching” in her motion, which is not capable if she were merely jumping. Further, in the same scene (2:00), when she is up in the air, her arms are down beside her, which is a flight position. When people jump, they lift their arms upward.

Also, as an issue of canon, you might like to know, that in the first trailer, Diana states that “she was brought to life by Zeus”. However, prior to the New 52, Zeus played no part in Diana’s creation.

So it’s clear that the movie will be adopting different aspects of WW’s history into her cinematic story.

It appears that the movie features two villains. I hope one of the villains can go toe to toe with Diana in a physical fight, otherwise, their defeat might feel too easy.

There is a scene in the trailer in which Diana appears shocked and appalled by the tragedy of the wounded soldiers. This is in character for Diana, and highlights the actual horror of WW I.

I agree with this article, for the most part. I’m not convinced that the actress is Dr. Poison, though. The portrayal of the actress in question looks nothing like Dr. Poison, and in fact, resembles moreso Baroness Von Gunther than Dr. Poison.

Also, what are your thoughts on what seems to be the flying scenes in the trailer?

    • Yeah, she certainly seems to levitate in place there. I’m going to guess that she will have a limited ability to do that, though. I.e., she won’t be able to maintain it for long. She will mostly leap like Superman did in MoS when he’s learning to fly. We saw her do this in BvS versus Doomsday.

      • SAMURAI36

Agreed to all points. Also, people seem to think that we’ve seen the full extent of her abilities in a 10 minute fight scene in BVS. We haven’t even seen Superman’s full powerset in the first 2 films yet (no freeze breath).

        • Matias Gagliardone

I really want to see him using the freeze breath!! Or at the very least his super breath

    • unpaidpundit

Maybe Wonder Woman gains the power of flight by the end of the film.

      • SAMURAI36

This is a good point as well. I’m wondering also, if part of the film takes place in the present day.

        • Oh yeah, all of the Themiscyra and WWI content is clearly a flashback from the present. I’m thinking there will likely be a prologue set in the present as well. That is, after the WWI tale concludes (the memory of it), whatever the implications or ramifications of that story for the future, specifically in JL, will be framed.

      • SAMURAI36

Also, see my comments about WW flying at the bottom of the page.

    • Mmm, I’m gonna put my money on Doctor Poison. In one analysis video of I’ve watched it is speculated that Danny Huston is playing the Duke of Deception. The Duke is a demigod, so that would work well for the final boss fight. And it saves Ares for later down the road.

      • SAMURAI36

Wait, are you saying that Huston is playing Dr. Poison?

        • Lol, no, Elena Anaya looks to be Doctor Poison.

          • SAMURAI36

Hmm, I’m actually having second thoughts on this being Dr Poison. Looking that the scene at :58 in the trailer, I now see the resemblance.

          • And she is working with poison gas there as well.

  • unpaidpundit

I would think that Steve Trevor would want to “win” the war, not just “end” it.

    • SAMURAI36

I dunno, I think people of peace would want to end a war, without additional conflict.

So, who/what is that at 1:54 that WW is slamming down with her lasso?

    • Danny Huston’s character probably. As far as i can see it isn’t really possible to make out who it is, but several analysis videos state that it is him.
