Justin Bieber Backs Out Of ‘Top Gun’ Star Tom Cruise Fight Like The Punk He Is

Justin Bieber doesn’t want to actually take on Top Gun star Tom Cruise in a fight as the pop star admitted that he wasn’t really serious about fighting the actor.

Speaking recently with TMZ, Justin Bieber admitted he was only joking about the fight. He explained the challenge itself came from watching an interview with Tom Cruise. He explained he doesn’t have a problem with Tom Cruise and has never even met the star.

Justin Bieber also admitted that he said it almost randomly and didn’t realize the traction his challenge to Tom Crusie would get:

“I don’t know him. He’s tight. The story is I saw an interview with him, and he was just on my mind. It was just a random tweet. I do that stuff sometimes.”

Justin Bieber went on to add that Tom Cruise would probably win in a fight against him:

“I think he’d probably whoop my ass in a fight.”

It seems we won’t get to see a match between Tom Cruise and Justin Bieber after all.

In the meantime, Tom Cruise is set to reprise his role as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell in the long-awaited Top Gun sequel. Plot details remain under wraps, though the film is set to feature Tom Cruise’s Maverick teaching a new generation of pilots. Among the trainees is a young man named Bradley Bradshaw, the son of Top Gun character Nick “Goose” Bradshaw who died tragically in the first film. Val Kilmer is set to reprise his role as Tom “Iceman” Kazansky while Jennifer Connelly plays a woman who runs a local Navy bar.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski from a script written by Peter Craig, Justin Marks, Ashley Edward Miller and Zack Stentz, Top Gun: Maverick stars Tom Cruise, Miles Teller, Val Kilmer, Kelly McGillis, Jennifer Connelly, Glen Powell, Monica Barbaro, Thomasin McKenzie, Charles Parnell, Jay Ellis, Bashir Salahuddin, Danny Ramirez, Jon Hamm, and Ed Harris.

Top Gun: Maverick is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 26, 2020.
