Top Gun: Maverick will mark the return of Tom Cruise in one of his most iconic roles of his filmography for the first time since 1986. The original film is one of his most beloved and given that film’s legacy, it will be playing a significant part in the highly-anticipated sequel in an interesting way.
During the 2018 CCXP in Brazil, Paramount Pictures revealed an exclusive sizzle reel for Top Gun: Maverick, which included footage from the original 1986 film. According to Omelete, the original footage was not just for the sizzle reel but will in fact be used as part of the highly-anticipated sequel as well.
