‘Transformers 5’ Gets A Title

The Transformers 5 now has a title- Transformers: The Last Knight.

The Last Knight could be a reference to the Knights of Cybertron which were referenced in the previous Transformers installment, Age of Extinction. This could lend credence to previous rumors that this film would take place largely off of Earth, a departure from past Transformers films.

Production is expected to begin June 6th in Detroit, which production planned to take place in various locations across the world. “Having one of the highest-profile film franchises created in Michigan is a major economic boost and a testament to the talent of the state’s production community,” said Jenell Leonard, commissioner of the Michigan Film & Digital Media Office when production plans were first revealed. “The production and economic investment is now happening sooner rather than later, and obviously, the project is a certainty rather than merely a possibility.”

Michael Bay also released the following teaser for the film:

Transformers: The Last Knight will star Mark Wahlberg returning from Age of Extinction, Isabela Moner as the new female lead Izabella, and Jerrod Carmichael in an unspecified leading role. Michael Bay is returning to direct, and the film will be written by Iron Man screenwriters Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Ken Nolan. Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Don Murphy and Tom DeSanto will produce.

Transformers social media accounts have all updated their pictures to display the logo for Transformers 5’s new title.

Transformers: The Last Knight is set for release June 23, 2017.
