With the first cast photo and other casting news being shared in recent weeks, Shane Black’s The Predator is shaping up. But despite all of the recent casting, not much has been revealed about the actual plot of the revival of the 1980s sci-fi/action classic. However, when he sat down to talk about the Oscars with Yahoo, Moonlight and The Predator actor Trevante Rhodes also gave a small glimpse into the upcoming flick.
Playing former Marine-turned-special-ops-Predator-hunter, Nebraska Williams, who joins up with his good friend Quinn McKenna (Boyd Holbrook), Rhodes revealed he had trouble handling the original films when he was younger.
“I was really squeamish growing up — not too fond of blood and guts,” he admitted. “I saw the first one when I was young, and liked it, but I was like, ‘I can’t watch any more of these!’”
But now he’s facing his childhood fears and suiting up to take down a monster from his childhood alongside his co-stars.
“We form a bit of a motley crew. It’s what you expect a Shane Black move to be, set in the world of the Predator.”
Directed by Shane Black, The Predator stars Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn, Trevante Rhodes, Keegan-Michael Key, Sterling K. Brown, Jacob Tremblay, Thomas Jane, Yvonne Strahovski, Alfie Allen, and Augusto Aguilera.
The Predator has already started filming and is set to hit theaters on February 9, 2018.
