While fans originally believed Superman, and other DC headliners to be off limits for the CW DC television shows, Superman has been cast for Supergirl. Tyler Hoechlin, who has landed the role has taken to Twitter to share his excitement for the role.
Could not be more honored & humbled to be given the opportunity to play this incredible & beloved character. Can't wait to get to work!

Grant Gustin who plays the Flash, and Colton Haynes who plays Arsenal also shared their excitement for Hoechlin to join the CW DC cast. Haynes excitement extends further as the two were co-stars on CW’s Teen Wolf and are good friends with each other.

With Superman joining the DCTV-verse, one can only wonder if we’ll be able to see other previously thought to be off-limits characters such as Wonder Woman and Batman make appearances down the line. It also further complicates the reasoning behind why Amanda Waller and Deadshot were killed off in Arrow, as if two Supermen can exist, why not other characters as well.
Are you guys excited to see Hoechlin as Superman on Supergirl? What other DC characters do you hope make their way to the DC TV shows? Let us know in the comments down below.
